[Sci-tech Policy] NSC Establishes Sci-tech Development Council (Chinese Version)

National Education Radio (2012/02/14) National Science Council (NSC) establishes Sci-tech Development Council in order to collect advices that support NSC's execution and promotion of the development of natural science, sustainability technology, engineering technology, life sciences, humanity and social sciences, science education, international cooperation and applied technology.

The formation of the advisory council will be profession-oriented. The council will offer suggestions with regard to NSC's subordinate charge-domains, helping with NSC's execution and sci-tech and academic promotion.

The concrete tasks assigned to the advisory council is to give professional advices that support the national policy-making with regard to sci-tech development, national sci-tech programs and other related sci-tech issues. NSC Minister will be the chairperson of the advisory council, and the council chairperson will invite the President of Academia Sinica or other recognized honorable sci-tech figure to take the seat of Head Councilor. The council will be made up of 19 councilors, including Chairperson and Head Councilor. NSC will invite local or foreign honorable sci-tech and academic figures to take the seats of the councilors. When necessary, Chairperson of the council will call for real assembly.
